Planning to relax by the pool and soak up the sun? No problem! From past Saturday, June 1st, until September 30th, Mijas has received authorization from the Andalusian government to resume water activities. This includes the refilling of swimming pools and the operation of public water facilities.
Sound on! Here we have the key highlights:
Swimming Pools
Both public and private pools can be partially refilled, if they have a water recirculation system. This refilling is only to replace water lost due to evaporation, filter cleaning, and to maintain sanitary conditions.
Showers in Sports Facilities and Pools
Showers in establishments where they are mandatory will be operational, equipped with timed push-button systems, sensors, or similar devices to ensure efficient water use.
Public Water Fountains
These will also be available for use, fitted with timed push-buttons, sensors, or equivalent mechanisms to regulate water flow.
The Community of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol, with its water operator Acosol, successfully secured these exemptions for Mijas and ten other municipalities in the region. This decision ensures that tourists and residents alike can enjoy the amenities while adhering to water conservation measures.
Whether you’re cooling off in a pool or freshening up at a sports facility, Mijas is ready to make your summer experience enjoyable and comfortable.
